Interview Technique
For many independent schools such as prep or senior schools an interview is almost always necessary, especially when schools are over-subscribed. Interviews are used as one of the selective processes, it is used to help schools to determine whether they will accept a student and is not solely based upon their academic standard. Students will usually be invited for Interview after a written exam, the interview itself will probably contain some general conversation with the aim of probing intellectual strengths and weaknesses of the child. Interviewers will try to find out a little about a child’s character.
Bear in mind that even the most academic schools are not necessarily just looking for those straight-A students. Some use interviews as an opportunity to create a well balanced community. Our consultant will be able to give interview practice and tips on how to succeed in interviews.
